This years route

New year, new Camino so new blog.

I am now only about 5 weeks away from starting my adventure again.
It's been strange but exciting to prep all and knowing I'm going alone this year.
Pretty brave if I may say so myself :)

The Camino of last year, that I walked with Tommy,  made an AMAZING impact in the most positive way ever. So after I got back last year........I could not stop thinking about it.
On the Camino forum (a great forum where thousands of people from all over the world are "allowed" ha ha  to share their daily bla bla about the Camino) I read that I'm not the only one that got "The Camino Blues" . Lots of people that walk it once do go back for more......and more :)
So last October I caved and decided to give in and started planning this years Camino.
Now a bit different from last year.
1) I only have 2 weeks this time (last year we went a month)
2) I'm going alone.
So I decided to walk coming June when it's already fairly busy on the trail. Just to avoid that I will have stretches where I will see no other Pilgrims near me. I think I feel safer that way. Just to explain further......normally during the busier months you see people walking in front and behind you within 100 yards or so....and that is what I like.
Then I needed to decide what stretch on The Camino I would walk.
Last year we skipped The Pyrenees Mountains there I wasn't confident enough if I could do it.
This year I am, so I will start at the very beginning , Saint Jean Pied de Port and will walk to Burgos.
About 280 KM ( 175 miles) .
I'm SUPER excited again. I KNOW I will miss Tommy to share daily adventures with, but I know it will be, once again, an AMAZING journey!
The end of this year will not be the Santiago Cathedral but the still very impressive Burgos Cathedral !!!

From St-Jean Pied-de-Port to Burgos

pyrenees mountains Camino de Santiago | pyrenees pyrenees from hiking ...This will be Day 1 scenery.....crossing the Pyrenees. Wish me luck !!!!! I just hope the weather will be nice so I get these amazing views.

The end goal this year :  The beautiful Burgos Cathedral !!!
